Good question!<\/p>\n<p>Attachments in Bugzilla are used to help document a bug. Whether the document you\u2019ve attached was the wrong screenshot, or was attached to the wrong bug record, was uploaded in error (a picture of you and friends out for some Thai food), or perhaps something an employee maliciously wanted to put in to get back at you, you have the wrong document. Time to delete. What do you do?<\/p>\n<p>The answer is just a bit different for the administrator than for the non-administrator.<\/p>\n<h2>Administrators<\/h2>\n<p>Administrators may easily delete a bug attachment.<\/p>\n<p>First give yourself the ability to delete attachments.<\/p>\n<p>From the Main Page&#8230; Administration -&gt; Parameters. Select \u201cAttachments\u201d on the left-hand table.<\/p>\n<p>Scroll down just a bit to \u201callow_attachment_deletion\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_block\"><a href=\"\/blog\/media\/blogs\/devzing\/da-admin.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/blog\/media\/blogs\/devzing\/da-admin.png\" width=\"643\" height=\"123\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Turn this feature \u201con\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Find the bug with the wayward attachment and click the <strong>Details <\/strong>link on the right side of the attachment. Below the Comment box you will see a link to <strong>Delete<\/strong> the attachment. Click the link (you may enter a reason for deletion if you want) and click <strong>Yes, delete<\/strong>. Your attachment is gone.<\/p>\n<h2>Non-Administrators<\/h2>\n<p>As a non-administrator you can\u2019t really delete an attachment; all you can do is mark it \u201cObsolete.\u201d This really only hides the attachment unless you click the <strong>Show Obsolete <\/strong>button, but it does keep it from being front and center.<\/p>\n<p>Open the bug. (Go to the \u201cBug List\u201d page, find the \u201cSummary\u201d of the bug and click the link. This opens the bug.)<\/p>\n<p>Information about the attachment appears at the bottom of the bug page.
